In Social Studies, Mrs. Detlor's 2nd Graders have been learning about democracy, U.S. symbols, the three branches of government, voting, and the presidency. In their final lesson, they read the book Grace for President and learned more about electoral votes and choosing the candidate that's best for the job. Students used their voter registration cards and another form of ID to register to vote. They voted for either Grace or Thomas, from the book, in a mock presidential election. Grace Campbell won in our classroom and in the story. These kiddos had a blast and rocked the vote! #voting #socialstudies #TCproud #2ndgradeROCKS
