Mr. Robinson's 4th grade and Ms Holland's Kindergarten book buddies have been getting together monthly to create door decorations for some of the residents at Heartland House in Wautoma. In deepening those connections, students were able to meet and visit with their residents today. Students brought each resident a small Spring basket full of goodies. The basket included homemade cards, watercolor paintings, crossword puzzles, word searches, and a few plastic eggs with candies inside. Students also sang a quick song for the residents. After the resident visit, students stopped for a quick play in the park where the light rain didn't stop the laughter, smiles, and joy of them getting to meet their residents and do something kind for others. We look forward to continuing our connection with the residents at Heartland House. A huge thank you to Melissa Fischer at Heartland House for allowing us this amazing community opportunity.

Another ExCEL play group is in the books! We had a special guest, Miss River Cities' Teen Ruby Marti! We read "The Dot" by Peter H. Reynolds and created our own masterpieces! The kids also enjoyed participating in a color song, making shapes with their bodies, and holding hands to make a big circle. If you have a child who is not yet in school, you are welcome to join our next play group on April 25th at 9 am.
