Mrs. Detlor’s 2nd Graders had a blast writing their letters to Santa. They included in their letters one thing they needed and one thing they wanted. The letters were absolutely adorable and thoughtful. The coolest part? They got a postcard from Santa today! The 2nd Graders were beyond excited and couldn't believe how much Santa knew all about their class. He even gave them advice on how to stay on the Nice List. 🎅 #magicaltimeoftheyear #2ndgradeROCKS #santaletters

Orange Chicken received great reviews last time it was served to the students and staff at Tri-County. Today it was served with scratch made Lo mein, utilizing local produce - cabbage from Lauer Farms and carrots from Patrykus Farms. As always we appreciate your feedback, let us know your thoughts, was it better with fried rice or Lo mein?

Booster Club Meeting This Wednesday

Operation Adopt a Teacher was a huge success! A special thank you to Cindy Johnson for leading this charge and offering Thrivent Action Team funds to get the teachers their wished for items. There were many other family and individual sponsors, as well. THANK YOU TO ALL FOR YOUR SUPPORT!

Artist of the Week - Landon Nelson is a junior in 2D Art 1. Landon's assignment was to create a large replica painting. His acrylic painting measures 18" x 24". Landon loves to create artwork with trucks. Landon is a joy to have in class. He is social with everyone and easy to talk to. This painting of an old truck, tucked in the grass with the beautiful light turned out great! Landon's effort and artistic skills came shining through.

Code & Go Robot Mouse
Today, Mrs. Detlor’s 2nd graders learned and practiced basic coding with their robot mouse that was donated by Cindy, Chuck, and Aiden Johnson. They learned some basic coding, caught on quickly, and were able to use coding cards to get Mrs. Detlor across the dots on their classroom rug to the gnome. Students then worked in small groups, building a maze for the Mouse to get to the cheese. They had 5 minutes to build a maze, code the mouse's path, and put their coding to the test. All groups were eventually successful and had a BLAST! These 2nd graders are looking forward to their next opportunity to code. Thank you, Johnson Family! #steam #challenges #2ndgradeROCKS #TCproud #teamwork #adoptaclassroom

The Winter 6-12 Choir concert will be held on Friday, December 13 at 7:00 p.m. in the TC Lecture Hall. This year the students had the idea of holding a Hygiene Drive and donate the items to our local food pantry. Please bring your items to the performance on the 13th!

Artist of the Week: Evie Flores is a senior in 3D Art 4. Evie is also an Art TA this semester and we are grateful for the work she has put in to help out the art room! After learning about and looking at examples of dreamcatchers and why they are made, Evie's project was to create a dreamcatcher. Evie did an excellent job of wrapping her ring, creating a web and designing her awesome dreamcatcher. Her work will be featured in our yearly art show in May.

Athletic Schedule for Nov. 25-30
Have a Safe and Happy Opening Weekend!

We had a great turnout at our ExCEL play group today! Our story was "The Ugly Pumpkin," and the kids each made their very own "ugly pumpkin" to take home. We also danced like scarecrows and sang "If You're Thankful and You Know It..." The kids had fun playing "Pass the Pumpkin," similar to the game "Hot Potato." Each child received a Mr. Potato Head toy and a book to take home. The featured snack was a turkey made out of Oreos, candy corn, and edible eyes. Happy Thanksgiving to everyone! Our next play group meets on December 20th at 9:00.

This week's library programming included an exercise in gratefulness! All elementary students took time to pause and tell Ms. Chipman what they are thankful for. Students in grades 6-12 were given a writing prompt of "We May have Many Penguin Problems but I am Grateful for." Here are some of the examples our students came up with. We have many thankful students in our community!
Happy Thanksgiving from Ms. Chipman & Ms. Rink!
